Who We Are


In brief, we’re both wellness professionals passionate about helping busy individuals create healthier, balanced lives where there’s plenty of time for the things that really matter.

Here’s a more detailed description of who we are:

Maggie Converse is a yoga instructor and health coach based out of Norwalk, CT. She completed her 200 hour yoga training through Aloka Life in 2007 and is a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.


Maggie started practicing yoga at age 17, tagging along with her mom when she went to the gym and trying every class they offered.  She initially found the movements similar to what she knew from dance, but soon discovered that yoga cut out the crap of looking in the mirror and constantly evaluating and judging yourself.  In college she became a regular at a local studio and, immediately after graduating, put her Art History and French double major to good use (please note: sarcasm) and started her yoga teacher training.  A constant learning process, yoga transformed Maggie’s life and continues to do so. It gave her the courage to do things she never thought she was capable of – like signing up for triathlons and road races and eventually completing one of her biggest dreams: Ironman Lake Placid.  Maggie raced with Children’s Tumor Foundation, fundraising almost $9,000 while spreading awareness for research for the genetic disorder neurofibromatosis.

Another one of Maggie’s dreams is to encourage anyone and everyone to get a little bit of yoga and self-care into their life. Whether it’s first thing in the morning, 5 minutes after a run, or taking a class … she is a firm believer that 10 minutes is better than no minutes! Through yoga and her health coaching practice, Maggie works with clients to help them break through the barriers that are preventing them from achieving optimal health and balance in their lives. Sophie Slater is a certified life coach and alignment focused yoga teacher.  Her mission is to empower her clients to develop greater life-balance and self-trust, overcome obstacles, and build meaningful lives.


A graduate of New York City’s Cooper Union School of Art, Sophie nurtured her passion for documentary photography and pursued her disciplined study of yoga in New York, Paris, Kazakhstan, and throughout India.  She has studied Anusara, Ashtanga, Iyengar, restorative, and vinyasa yoga extensively for over a decade and holds a 200 hour teaching certification and degree in advanced yogic studies from the Yoga Vidya Gurukul ashram in Maharashtra, India.  Sophie trained to be a life coach at New York City’s Open Center through the ICF accredited program Leadership That Works: Coaching For Transformation.

The extensive time Sophie lived in India nurtured her passion for giving back.  She is a firm believer in the cumulative power of small positive gestures and seeks to incorporate social activism into her work as a coach and teacher whenever possible.  She feels grateful to still visit and work regularly with the Deenabandhu Children’s Home, an orphanage in Chamarajanagar, Karnataka, South India. In November of 2010, Sophie became an ambassador for Yoga Gives Back, a nonprofit that helps destitute women and girls in India build more sustainable lives.  She is also on the board of Pathways to Housing National, an organization dedicated to ending homelessness and addressing mental health issues across America.  Over the past two decades Pathways has moved thousands of men and women off the streets and into homes of their own without preconditions.

Previously, Sophie was the host of Life Coaching with Sophie, a one-hour daily radio show on Martha Stewart Living Radio, SiriusXM 110, and the co-host with Fannie Cohen of a lifestyle podcast called Doing It.   Sophie was also an editor-at-large and online columnist for Whole Living Magazine and a regular contributor to the Martha Stewart Show for over 4 years, producing and appearing in segments on yoga, health, and volunteering.
